“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”. ~ Lao Tzu
We all want success, it’s what New Year resolutions focus on. We think about losing weight, traveling the world, increasing our income, along with many other resolutions.
Yet there is a problem with how New Year resolutions are typically structured. Let’s take a look at the following example:
There is excitement in the beginning, as inspiration and motivation are at the peak. It is January 1st, and you wake up excited to start working on your goal. You are eager to go the local gym, packed with people who are exercising more than they have for the past few months combined. You get on the machine, get on the mat, or start lifting weights, vigorously working out. Leaving the gym that day, you probably feel exhausted, but proud of your efforts.
The next morning, your alarm clock goes off. Exhaustion and sore muscles beg you to go back to sleep. You go anyways and leave the gym in a similar fashion as the previous day. This pattern continues for a couple more days, until the excuses, exhaustion, and sore muscles begin to win the battle as motivation and inspiration began to dwindle. After all, you haven’t seen results yet, you just feel sore.
Sound familiar? The problem is that people focus so much on the result, that the steps to achieving this result are obscured, and quickly forgotten. This is not to disregard New Year resolutions, as they can be a great time to start on that goal that has been put off. The key is to structure New Year resolutions correctly, and it begins by setting successful steps. This blog will help you focus on those steps. By being persistent, and working on your goals every day, success is inevitable. Together, we will climb these successful steps.
