If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito. ― Dalai Lama
I like to keep my website simple. I believe adding content for the sake of adding content is not only useless, but it’s also toxic. Your time and attention are valuable, and you deserve the best setting possible to help you grow and succeed. When there is too much noise, we struggle to hear anything. When it’s quiet, we can give our attention to things we may have never even noticed before, or the problems we have been avoiding for too long.
An about page is great, but a now page is even better. Here’s why:
-
It’s constantly evolving.
An about page is nice, but it tends to stay the same. As humans, we are constantly changing. We are more than our interests, hobbies, and careers. We are always changing, and so does the now page. This means more great ideas, freshly shared from my own experiences. Not every experience will be a breakthrough, but a now page provides you with insight into what’s worked for me, and what hasn’t.
-
It provides insight on my latest moves.
Every great decision is a result of hundreds of small choices coming together. This page will help document some of my small choices and why I’m choosing them. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa, but you can try a couple ingredients form my recipe and see if they work for you.
-
It promotes accountability.
Often times, we are so busy keeping up with daily demands that we lose sight of what we’re doing and where we’re headed. I’m guilty of this, and if you are too, consider creating a now page. When we document our actions, it raises awareness and motivates us to make the changes we need.
-
It’s fun.
Regardless of what we’re trying to pursue, if we don’t have fun along the way, it’ll make our journey a lot more difficult. After all, if it’s about the journey instead of the destination, why not document it?
The Now Page
I encourage you to check out the now page, as it’ll change regularly. If you’re interested in creating your own now page, the now page from Derek Sivers serves as an excellent resource.
