We have more technology and modern conveniences than ever before, yet it wouldn’t seem like it. Looking around, it’s easy to see everyone is piled with demands. We’re expected to perfectly execute everything at the same time, yet it’s still not good enough. Drained and exhausted, it feels like we can never get ahead, or even caught up.

Negative Visualization

Anytime we recognize, pause, and appreciate the good things in life, we’re experiencing gratitude. This often happens after the pleasant experience has passed.

Appreciating an amazing trip after it’s over.
Mourning a magnificent marriage during the divorce.
Savoring a healthy immune system once we’re sick.

The term ‘mediocre’ has turned into a profanity. Anyone who assigns this label is considered rude or insensitive. Anyone who associates with this term believes they’re a pathetic loser.

Fun fact: Ultrasounds are for more than just pregnant patients.

Ultrasounds help examine the heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, and much more. Before a sonographer can examine the organs, they need to find the best location for the probe to scan the organs. In ultrasound, they call this an acoustic window.

Low-Grade Misery

We all know when we’re facing a big problem. These challenges sweep us off our feet and consume all our time and attention.

Yet what about the little things? It’s the task or problem we put off because it’s not a big deal. It’s the thing we remember when it causes us low-grade misery.

The Freedom to Start Again

Our minds are powerful machines. We can create an infinite number of creative ideas, if we let ourselves.

Too often, fear takes over. Fear persuades us to think we’re being rational.
Instead of using creativity to fulfill our desires, it feeds our excuses. We create countless excuses on why we can’t do something rather than focus on how we can.

Beauty in the Broken

What do we do when we feel broken? What do we do when it all crumbles into pieces?

Cracks in our core can feel like a broken plate. These challenges make us feel shattered and worthless. We can toss the plate in the trash and turn away, or we can use the pieces to make a beautiful mosaic.

What Adds Value to Your Life?

Andrew Rocha — February 13, 2022

One of my biggest changes over the past few years is how I use my time. One of the most productive techniques I’ve learned is how to say no to activities that don’t truly add value to my life. The same goes for tasks, habits, and relationships.

Experience Every Emotion

Experience

Most self-help articles share advice on how to be happy or productive. Society leads us to believe anything less should be changed, fixed, or covered up.

This picture-perfect image snaps a facade rather than a genuine view of reality. No one is happy all the time. Everyone experiences problems. Expecting anything else sets unrealistic expectations.
