I love the simplicity of walking. It feels like a natural habit. We take one step at a time, with one foot at a time. With each step, we know the following step will bring the other foot forward.
We are always making decisions on what to bring forward.
When we complain to our friends, we bring negativity forward and push away uplifting conversations.
When we stay up late to watch TV, we bring pleasure forward and push away our need for rest.
When we eat unhealthy foods, we bring cravings forward and push away our nourishment.
This can also apply to our mindsets. We can think about how much we still have to do, or how much we already did. We can beat ourselves up for the one mistake we made, or celebrate all of the accomplishments we’ve earned. We can chase after the next widget, or be grateful for all the amazing things we have.
Once we acknowledge this, we can change what we bring forward.
Choose your words carefully, and only speak the best ones.
Own fewer items, only keep the ones that serve us best.
Live in accordance with your values, only allowing the best traits to shine.
When we let go of anything less, only the best is brought forward.
